Downtown Blacksburg Inc. is proud to present our business Member of the Month for February 2019- Southern Harts Boutique.
Southern Harts Boutique opened the doors on August 25, 2018. We have two locations in Virginia. One in Pulaski, and one on main street in downtown Blacksburg.
We are family owned, by sisters and a niece. Karen Tuggle and Kayla Hartley own the Pulaski store, Tamie Handwerk and Kayla Hartley own the Blacksburg location.
We all grew up in Pulaski, Va. so that is the reason we opened a store at that location. Shopping is limited and we are hoping to help the community thrive.
We chose Blacksburg as a location for our second store, due to the downtown feel. It is quaint and we love the excitement from Virginia Tech and the comfort we feel about being a part of a close community.
We have two fabulous, hard-working employees who manage the store. Mariah Evans and Kasey Lillard. These two girls have been employed with us since the beginning! They provide input into the merchandise and are really an huge part of our success.
Southern Harts has participated in many events hosted by Downtown Blacksburg, such as Steppin’ Out, Halloween events, Breast Cancer Awareness, Freddie the Frog, and donating to many activities to support Downtown Blacksburg. We hosted a radio show outside our doors to give away tickets to a VA Tech football game.
Southern Harts Boutique was established to bring current clothing trends, fun clothing and affordable prices to women’s fashion. We take pride in owning a small business and helping the local community as much as possible.
