Downtown Blacksburg Inc. is proud to present our business Member of the Month for September 2018- The Alexander Black House Gift Shop.
The Alexander Black House Gift Shop helps the Blacksburg Museum & Cultural Foundation fulfill its mission by promoting Blacksburg’s art, history, and culture. Our growing selection includes books, music, jewelry, pottery, artwork, and more, all produced by local authors and artisans. We’ve recently added selections from award-winning author Nikki Giovanni, new glassware from Larry Mitchell, and jewelry by Sandra Eileen Designs. Our popular prints by George Wills feature scenes from downtown Blacksburg as well whimsical depictions of animals and even vegetables!
Purchases at our Gift Shop help sustain our local artists and authors and the ongoing operations of the BM&CF. Our hours are 10 AM – 4 PM, Tuesday – Saturday. If you are a local artisan, musician, or author who is interested in sharing your work, please contact Andy Washburn about our consignment program at firstname.lastname@example.org or 540-558-0746. For details on museum exhibits, please visit blacksburgmuseum.org.
Later this month, we’ll be welcoming our new Marketing and Administrative Coordinator to our staff, Jessamine Kane-Wisely, who will also be managing the Gift Shop. Be sure to stop by and meet Jessamine!
