Positive Radio Group is locally owned and operated by the Baker family, who are native to Blacksburg.
Paul VanWagoner Came to Blacksburg in January of 2016. Prior to coming to Virginia Paul was the Morning host on Eagle 95.1 in Sault Ste. Marie MI. He spent 18 years in “The Soo” in radio. Paul and his wife Nicole have grown to love Blacksburg in their short time here. In his free time Paul and Nicole love to watch hockey, and spend time with their two dogs. Paul spends his mornings doing radio sales, and his afternoons talking sports on ESPN Blacksburg
Earnie Taylor grew up in the New River Valley and, after studying Business Management, he hit the road as a salesman in the furniture industry. After several years Earnie decided he was tired of being a “road warrior” and looked for a company that would allow him to stay closer to home in the NRV. Earnie joined Positive Radio Group in March of 2010 and quickly proved his strong ability to build marketing strategies that puts clients advertising dollars to work and achieves positive results.
Kevin Grischow is our part-time board operator/producer, helping Paul VanWagoner turn out an excellent show every day. Kevin came to Positive Radio Group in January, after moving from Ohio to Blacksburg when his wife took a job at Virginia Tech. His background in telecommunications allowed him to hit the ground running.
Alison Baker is the Station Manager at Positive Radio Group and is a native of Blacksburg. After getting into radio in 1998, Alison’s learned nearly every aspect of the radio business by starting in the front office and learning something new every day. She has a deep appreciation of her hometown and knows the many challenges and opportunities our community has. When not involved in the many aspects of radio, Alison likes to hike, read and play a few video games.
Diane Baker is Alison’s twin sister! She joined Positive Radio Group in 2006 and helps with Traffic (commercial scheduling), Billing and many other office duties that keep the rest of the staff on track and up to date. In her free time she loves to spend time with her kitties and singing with the Blacksburg Master Chorale.

3- Joy-AM / Today’s Southern Gospel Music & Ministry Station (890AM & FM 93.1)
WKNV broadcasts today’s popular Southern Gospel Music as well as Christian teaching and preaching programs and features well-known national ministries along with a number of local and regional ministries. National programs such as Grace to You, Love Worth Finding, and Enjoying Everyday Life with Joyce Meyers along with many others minister to the Body of Christ. Women 35+ make up a good portion of listeners with men not far behind. Quite often their radio’s stay on and tuned in all day.
